Used car? A service history makes the difference

Buyers trust a car with a clear service record: dates, kilometres and receipts. Sayarti+ keeps every service and cost with the receipt photo, and produces a tidy PDF in Arabic or English when you decide to sell.

Selling? Show you looked after it

Keep your service in one place: oil changes, tyres, brakes, battery and repairs, with km, date, workshop and receipt photo. When you sell, create the service-history PDF and send it to the buyer on WhatsApp. It cuts the questions and gives the buyer a reason to trust your price.

The service-history PDF is a Pro feature. Logging and receipt photos are always free. Pricing

What's in the PDF?

  • Car details (no ID numbers)
  • Every service with date, km and cost
  • Odometer readings over time
  • Cost summary

The PDF shows what you logged; it isn't an inspection certificate or an official history report.

What does a good service record show?

Buyers don't want a long record, they want a regular one. Here's what they look for, and why:

What a good service record shows
In the recordWhy the buyer cares
Oil changes with date and kmRegular gaps mean a cared-for engine
Odometer readings over timeShows any tampering or odd jump
Tyres, battery, brakesTells them when the next replacement is due and what it'll cost
Major repairs with the workshop nameThey can ask the same workshop
Receipt photosProof the work was actually done
Registration or licence and insurance datesShows what needs renewing after purchase

All of this is logged free in Sayarti+; the ready-made PDF for buyers is a Pro feature.

How a service record helps you negotiate

When a buyer asks “When were the tyres changed?” or “Has it had the 40,000 km service?”, a receipt beats any promise. A clear record:

If you're the buyer: a car with no record isn't necessarily bad, but you're entitled to price the coming service into your offer.

Car maintenance schedule
  • Fewer reasons to push the price down: a new battery and tyres show with their dates

  • Faster sale: fewer questions, quicker viewings

  • Justifies your price against a similar car with no record

Buying used? Ask before you pay

  • Ask for the service record and receipts
  • Check the odometer against service dates
  • Ask when the oil, tyres and battery were last changed
  • Check registration/licence and insurance expiry dates
  • Ask about unpaid fines and check them on your country's official portal
  • Have an independent inspection centre check the car before paying
  • Test-drive on a highway and in traffic
  • Look at tyre wear (uneven wear can mean alignment problems)
  • Check the chassis number on the papers matches the car
  • Work out the loan payment and ownership cost before you decide

Red flags that should make you pause

  • The seller refuses an independent inspection
  • Odometer far too low for the car's age and the wear on the wheel and seats
  • Not one receipt, and the seller can't recall any service
  • Papers in someone else's name with no clear authorisation
  • Chassis number on the papers doesn't match the car
  • Mismatched paint between panels or uneven door gaps
  • Asked to pay in full before the ownership transfer or the contract is formalised

Steps to buy a used car in Saudi Arabia and Egypt

The general steps as they stand today. Procedures and fees change, so always confirm them on your country's official portal.

In Saudi Arabia

  1. Agree the price after an independent inspection.
  2. Check there are no unpaid fines, and when the registration and periodic inspection expire.
  3. Make sure the car has valid insurance; it's usually needed to complete the transfer.
  4. Complete the ownership transfer online on the official portal, and pay by a traceable method, not cash.
  5. Keep a copy of the transfer proof, and add the car to Sayarti+ with its dates.

In Egypt

  1. Have the car checked at an independent centre, and ask to see the original licence.
  2. Check the fines recorded on the car before you pay.
  3. Write a clear sales contract with the chassis and engine numbers and the odometer reading, and have it formalised.
  4. Transfer the car licence to your name with the relevant official office within the set period.
  5. Add the car to Sayarti+ with its licence and insurance expiry dates to get reminders.

FAQ

FAQ

Is the service-history PDF official?

No. It summarises what you logged, with dates and receipts. It helps buyers trust you but doesn't replace an independent inspection.

Does my ID number appear in the PDF?

No. Sayarti+ never stores ID or Iqama numbers.

Can I pass the record to the buyer?

Send them the PDF or a CSV export. In the app, mark the car as sold and it stays in your history.

Do you offer vehicle history reports (accidents, auctions)?

Not now. We'll only offer them from a licensed data source.

What's the most important thing to ask a used-car seller for?

The service record with receipts, and permission for an independent inspection. If they refuse the inspection, stop.

How can I tell the odometer hasn't been wound back?

Compare the reading with service dates on receipts and with wear on the wheel, seats and pedals, and ask the inspection centre. A regular record with km readings is hard to fake.

Can I start a record for a used car that came with no receipts?

Yes. Add it with today's odometer, log the first full service you do, and Sayarti+ works out the next dates from there.
