How are fuel prices set in Egypt?
Petrol and diesel prices in Egypt are set by the fuel automatic pricing committee, which reviews them periodically; the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announces each decision. The price of natural gas for cars is set by a separate official decision. We update this page after each announcement, with the source and effective date under the table. If the pump shows a different price, tell us with “Report an error”.

How many litres do I need for 100 km?
It depends: roughly 5–7 for a small car, 7–10 for a mid-size sedan, 11–16 for a large SUV. Work out yours with the consumption calculator.
What's the difference between 80, 92 and 95?
The number is the octane rating: how well the fuel resists knocking (igniting too early) in the engine. It isn't about power or cleanliness. Use the grade your owner's manual recommends, often printed on the fuel cap. Most modern cars are built for 92 or higher; 80 is for older cars whose manual allows it. Filling a car built for 92 with 95 adds no power and saves no fuel; it just costs more.
How much is a cubic metre of CNG for cars?

Is CNG or petrol cheaper for a car?
Over the same distance CNG is usually cheaper than 92, since a cubic metre of gas covers about the distance of a litre of petrol. But the conversion costs money and needs regular servicing, so work out when it pays back with the CNG calculator, using your monthly distance.
