6 ways to spend less on fuel
- Use the grade your owner's manual asks for: 95 in a car built for 91 only gives you a bigger bill.
- Check tyre pressure once a month and before trips: an under-inflated tyre raises consumption, and heat changes pressure fast.
- Don't idle for long to cool the car; switch on the AC and drive off gently.
- Hold a steady speed on highways: every big jump in speed clearly raises consumption.
